phpBookExchange

phpBookExchange (phpBE) is a book exchange web application released under the GPL. This project is mainly aimed at colleges that want to let their students exchange used textbooks; however, it can be used by any community that wants to allow its members to exchange books.

Why not just buy or sell from the used book store?

Let's take a $100 book for example. Usually a used book store will pay you about $35 for that book and then resell it for around $70. What if you could skip the used book store and directly sell your book to that same person for $50? You would get more and the buyer would pay less!

Requirements

php 5+ (with mysqli extension and PEAR 1.5+)
MySQL 4.1+
JavaScript enabled web browser (Tested on: Internet Explorer 6+, Firefox 1+, Opera 8+)

Pear Modules Used: Cache_Lite, HTTP_Client, HTTP_Request, Services_Amazon, XML_Serializer, XML_Util
